Zoom-Meeting «The desert lives on»

New findings on rare breeding bird species in the southern Arava region and Eilat, Israel

Zoom-Meeting with Noam Weiss, Director of the International Birdwatching and Research Center Eilat

The desert around Eilat is home to some very rare and highly specialized. breeding bird species. Species like Macqueen´s Bustard, Arabian Warbler or Hoopoe Lark are often only found very scattered and locally.

In recent years, Noam Weiss and the IBRCE have put a lot of effort into searching for these and other desert birds to learn more about their distribution and population changes.

Noam will talk about the results of his efforts and update us on the status of highly charismatic bird species in southern Israel.
